18 ESD protection ESD protection zone planning There are various options when planning your ESD protection zone, the so-called EPA (Electrostatic Protected Area). ERGO-line offers the necessary components, dividing the ESD protection zones into the following variants: Variant 1 – ESD work mat The ESD work mat on the non-conductive table. The ESD wrist strap is connected to the work mat, and this is earthed. • ESD accessories page 89 Variant 2 – ESD workstation The table frame, which is powder-coated with conductive properties as standard for ERGO-line, is equipped with an ESD worktop.
